Guitar ID

Some poor guy on another board is trying to ID a European electric archtop guitar from the 60s, the only marking he can see is "Tuwel de Lusee".

I've racked my brain (OW!) but came up with nothing. But the a again, I'm no guru. For those who ARE, though- ring any bells?

The headstock is very reminiscent of the old 'Echo' brand made in italy, the F-holes & the overall look is that of early Framus, but there were other similar-looking manufacturers in Germany in the 50's.

Using The Geoff's suggestions, I did a little more looking and found some similar guitars, but not that exact guitar.

I don't know if this is against board policy or not, but here's a link: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1523718

Headstock & pickups are VERY similar to my Framus Black Rose, but the Framus truss rod cover has a company logo on it. Might have been lost & replaced on this one. But the cat's eye sound holes are something mostly associated with Gretsch & Rickenbacker, & this is neither of those. I'm going with some early model Framus for now.

Somebody over there says it may be a Hopf that got modded. The picture he posted says he may have a point.

Still, thanks, guys- the suggestions I got here got the ball there rolling again!
