Dgas
There doesn't seem to be much information available about the life of Jimmy Smith, bits here & there but not much that I can find. Considering his musical influence.......well I just thought there might be a bit more info out there. Does anyone know of a JS biography? If not, is anyone out there a writer (hint-hint)? There may be a good many people still around who have first hand knowledge about his life however they may not be available much longer (at least for his early years). Am I missing something? Is my Google broken?
dazzjazz
Last I heard, Jimmy toyed with the idea, but never got around to it. I certainly hope I'm wrong - and being isolated down here in Australia, I'm sure there's some Yank who knows better than I do. My 2k.. Darren www.dazzjazz.com PhD in Jazz Organ Improvisation.
