Goes for around the same price as the Ashly LX-308b plus has mic inputs which the Ashly doesn't. Uses the the same Burr- Brown pres has their higher end consoles. Also like Ashly, made in the USA ( NJ). :thu:

Looks good,- but ...

"Each input channel is assignable to Left-Right or Mono (Center) mix bus"

So,- if you want to listen to all your keys in stereo but send ´em all mono to the FOH,- that doesn´t work ?

That´s how I understand it reading the specs.

Another minor drawback (for me),- no aux send/return,- just for a multi FX unit for my Minimoog D and/or Oberheim Xpander which both need outboard FX, but halfway compensated by the inserts on mono channels.

I like the D-SUB cascade connector !

I currently use an Apogee Ensemble as my "mixer," but I have been thinking it would be nice to keep my hardware in the analog domain. A really nice 1U rackmount mixer with at least 8 stereo inputs and 1 AUX Send would be perfect, coupled with one high-quality stereo D/A convertor like the original Apogee Duet. Like Al I keep one multiFX unit around for the analog hardware.

Here's another IU 6 x 4 option which includes an effects loop, pan, and simple high and low eq for each channel.

I have actually been considering this as a rackable extension to gain a few more channels on our main PA.

My possible use would be for drum overheads and toms. I could use a couple channels for overheads and pan these left and then combine into one input on the main board and do the same for toms panned to right an into another main mixer input.

yeah no aux send/returns-- but for my purpose at least you can add verb for a vocal mic with the channel insert. I'm basically looking for something a little higher end preamp wise to the A&H. Just trying to smooth out the high end on the CP5 and NP. I know those Burr-Brown pres-that's what Jim Williams at Audio Up grades modded my Soundcraft Delta board with. They are very open, airy, transparent sounding without being too clinical sounding.

I'll send Eric an email at apb and ask about the stereo/foh mono issue. It doesn't look like you can...
