harvey
I've had a low wattage 1 x 12 tube amp on my list for a while. Found a Peavey Windsor studio for $250 au (similar to US $ ATM). It's got a Jenson P12Q in there. Any thoughts?? Didn't someone on the forum put a new speaker in a similar amp recently? Cheers! Caevan O’Shite
Hey, Harvey! As a matter of fact, a while back LeftyBlues posted this thread asking for recommendations for a speaker-upgrade for his Peavey Windsor Studio, wanting one with a more robust low-end; I recommended he try something like a Celestion G12H 30, he tried one, and he liked it. That AlNiCo Jensen P12Q has GOT to be an improvement over the crappy Peavey "Blue Marvel" speaker that usually comes stock in those amps. LeftyBlues
Good memory Caev! Yes the stock speaker is probably good for something but not guitar. You got a great deal for $250. I was born at night but I wasn't born last night...
harvey
Thanks Caev, that's a great thread from a while back. Heya lefty...not mine yet but going to have a play in a couple of days! I've read that removing the attenuator is also a good idea. Is yours still intact? LeftyBlues
You'll like it Harvey, sweet amp for the money. Yes the attenuator is still in it. I leave it around 50%, I'm a family room bluesman only so I don't mess with the equipment, just play. I was born at night but I wasn't born last night...
