David Loving
Saw Red Young with Ephraim Owens (trumpet/flugelhorn) and Brannen Temple (drums), Black Red Black at the Sammons Jazz program in Dallas last night. What a set! I had gone to hear Red in the 80's every chance I got when he was doing a swing thing - keyboard drums bass chick singers, etc. Never heard him on B3. Made up for it last night. Black Red Black was exceptional. I thought it was Blue Note live. If you get a chance go hear them - they are in Austin mostly I think. Bobby Sparks was really good - more grits, but an exceptional player himself. Great show. Check out BRB's album on iTunes. "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown." kanker.
Yeah, BRB is some serious stuff. First time I saw the , Red was mainly playing LHB. Now, it's almost all pedals. Sick. A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable.
David Loving
Yes he was kicking pedals last night. Sick sums it up. "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown."
MAJUSCULE
Mmm, yeah, I remember someone posting a video of a BRB set a while back here. Been wanting to check them out ever since. Eric Website Gear page
