zxvoh3425
For a Novation X Station. Novation's website just says it uses 'Standard centre positive 9V DC 600mA'. There's some on eBay specifically for the X Station, but they're like $42 w/ shipping plus have a UK 3 prong wall outlet, i need USA-type. The eBay ones specifically for X Stations says: - Input voltage: AC100-240V, 50/60Hz - Output voltage: 9V - AC Pin: UK 3-pin - Hold Up Time: 10 mS - Protection: Short, Over Voltage, OverCurrent - Safety: CE, CB, BSMI, BS EN60950 There are $2.50 ones on eBay that match Novations 'Standard centre positive 9V DC 600mA", but say nothing about input range (like 120V AC 60hz) or about safety, hold up time, or protection like the UK one above. Will those fry the board or something? I have six here that might work. Here are their specs: 1) input:120VAC 60Hz 12W output: 9VDC 500mA class2 transformer 2) class 2 transformer. input:120V 60Hz 9W output:9VDC 200mA 3)input AC: 120V 60Hz 25W. output: DC 9V 1200mA 4)only for AC- AC. input AC 120V 60HZ 10W output AC 9V780mA 5)input 120VAC 60Hz 9.6VA output:9V DC 500mA 6)input AC:120V 60Hz 10W output DC:9V 450mA thanks so much. Spend the money and get one specifically for the X station that's made to be used in the USA. Of the ones listed, only #3 and #4 offer 600mA or more. #4 has AC output, not DC. Also, do you know for sure that they have the correct size plug that mates with the X station? Do you know for sure that the plug is wired with the center positive? Could you fry the X station by using an adapter that doesn't meet the X station specifications you listed? Oh yeah. Spend the money & get an adapter that is specifically made to be used with the X station. EDIT: Or you can use the USB connection to power the keyboard. It will also recharge the batteries, if you have installed rechargeable batteries. I looked for this power supply on eBay and couldn't find one. You may want to send the company an email and ask if they would sell you a power supply. alvin13
I bought a generic wallwart for my edirol controller, which has worked fine for over 2 years. As stated above the only one listed that will work is no. 3, PROVIDED it is centre + and its female plug matches the Novation. They usually have a small diagram showing centre + or - on the label. If the label doesn't say what it is, don't use it.$2-50 seems too cheap if you have to buy one. I'd be much happier paying $10 or so. Make sure all the specs match Novations requirements. Must be 600mA or more.AC Output is a definite no-no. Jus my 2 cents. If you decide to buy a cheaper one, get one that comes with a selection of different size female plugs. That way you'll be sure to match up with the Novation.
