Modified Radias

Synthoid

Recommended Posts

The recent "frankenboard" thread got me thinking about modifying my Radias keyboard. I'd like to have a tasteful wooden case built for it... something like one of those Andromeda mods (see below) I've run across online.

I figure since the Radias is already modular, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Just curious if anyone has done or seen one like that?

Have not done or seen, but you are right that it shouldn't be terribly difficult. The fact that the Radias module is already rackable means that you can get some standard rack rails to get it going. With all the connectors on the top, I suppose you could leave the top flush with the woodwork. I would center the module on the keybed, but then what do with the extra real estate on the left and right? iPad holder? Built-in speakers?

BTW that Andromeda thing is gorgeous, and I assume completely Photoshopped, no?

That pic was altered, but here's the real deal:

I've seen a few different mods of the Andromeda... quite a project!

Here's another:

The second link looks real. But there seems to be a light outline on the first panel that sure looks like it was altered.

The radias would make an excellent choice for a mod!

UPDATE: I see, the unaltered pic looks better to me!

Doesn't the Radius have a companion rompler piece that racks and would fill out the width of the cab nicely?

Edit: was thinking of the M3, which doesn't rack but has the right panel height.
