Synthoid
The recent "frankenboard" thread got me thinking about modifying my Radias keyboard. I'd like to have a tasteful wooden case built for it... something like one of those Andromeda mods (see below) I've run across online. I figure since the Radias is already modular, it shouldn't be that difficult. Just curious if anyone has done or seen one like that? http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4140/4920584341_210e758bf0.jpg When an eel hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a Moray. johnchop
Have not done or seen, but you are right that it shouldn't be terribly difficult. The fact that the Radias module is already rackable means that you can get some standard rack rails to get it going. With all the connectors on the top, I suppose you could leave the top flush with the woodwork. I would center the module on the keybed, but then what do with the extra real estate on the left and right? iPad holder? Built-in speakers? BTW that Andromeda thing is gorgeous, and I assume completely Photoshopped, no? -John I make software noises.
Synthoid
BTW that Andromeda thing is gorgeous, and I assume completely Photoshopped, no? That pic was altered, but here's the real deal: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_rScBRKlTdoE/S2SB-NEJ9nI/AAAAAAAAvEc/RsgKsmmZgRQ/s400/stained6.jpg I've seen a few different mods of the Andromeda... quite a project! Ken Beaumont
The second link looks real. But there seems to be a light outline on the first panel that sure looks like it was altered. The radias would make an excellent choice for a mod! UPDATE: I see, the unaltered pic looks better to me! Dglavko
That'd be cool too - maybe put in a moogerfooger or two to fill up the space?
mate stubb
Doesn't the Radius have a companion rompler piece that racks and would fill out the width of the cab nicely? Edit: was thinking of the M3, which doesn't rack but has the right panel height. johnchop
The Korg M3 but it doesn't rack and would be wider than the 49-key keybed that comes with the Radias. I make software noises.
Synthoid
I like this setup! Not one, not two, but three: [video:youtube] When an eel hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a Moray.
