Asbjorn
Hi everybody. I'm new to this forum - but looks like an interesting place so here I go. I have a band Crazy Train - and we play hard rock (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dream Theater and the likes). Today I play all my keys directly through active speakers. I am thinking of buying a Leslie 3300 for the organ (Clavia C1) - and I was wondering how the best setup would be for this. Do I turn off all settings (overdrive, leslie speed etc.) on the C1 and control it on the Leslie ... or how? Hope some of you have any suggestings to this. Jim Alfredson
Doesn't the C1 have an 11pin Leslie output? Just connect the 3300 to that. You should be able to switch the speeds from the C1. danimuschi
Hej Asbjørn I'm also Danish, but I'll do this in English anyway ;-) I use my C1 with a Leslie 330. It's like a smaller version of a 760 and same crossover as a 147 but with a ss amp and 11pin. Anyways. All you wanna do is to use a 11pin Leslie cable to connect the two and you are good. It'll bypass the internal sim, but you still have the choice of using the drive... I'm gonna sell that Leslie and go with a Ventilator though. Maybe you wanna buy it? Dglavko
The C1's Leslie is automatically disengaged if you us either the 11 pin or the high output 1/4 inch out. You can switch the 3300 on and off and brake with a pedal hooked up to the C1 (standard sustain pedal will do) or a pedal hooked up directly to the 3300, or the C1 Leslie switch if you add it. Asbjorn
Hi everybody ... thanks for quick respones. Conclusion: I can control drive, leslies speed from the C1 - but I can also do it directly on the 3300. Another question: I have heard that somebody use a drive between the organ and the Leslie. That could be a traditional guitar drivepedal or a specific pre-amplifier like the Speakeasy AMA122. What advantages would there be here in your opinion? Best regards ... Asbjorn
Sorry for doping this in Danish.
