jeremy c
My wife and I are about to leave for the only place we could find open today: the Contemporary Jewish Museum of San Francisco. We'll see the exhibit about Harry Houdini (born Erik Weisz) and have some chicken soup in the cafe. Hope everyone has a good day! Here in the San Francisco area, Dungeness Crab seems to be the preferred menu item for Christmas dinners. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to it. Free download of my cd!. They've gone really upscale and now have ginger-carrot soup. I had a Chinese chicken salad. (that's a Jewish tradition: eat Chinese food on Christmas) Meanwhile, they had a great magic show to celebrate the Houdini exhibit. All tickets today were free and since it was the only museum open in town, it was packed. They also had a music exhibit called "Black Sabbath" ..... about Black performers who sang Yiddish and Hebrew songs and with listening stations where you could hear dozens of songs. Did you know that Billie Holiday recorded My Yiddishe Mama, Cab Calloway recorded A Bee Gezunt, and Johnny Mathis recorded Kol Nidre?
