Bobadohshe
My production partner hipped me to this video last night. This is so hip it gives me chills. Won't be to everyone's taste but you have to see this vid, and it's obviously WAY appropriate to our community. Enjoy dudes. yannis D
The guy who did the animation did a very nice work. Be grateful for what you've got - a Nord, a laptop and two hands

Adan
Great groove and production. There's a Fagenesque dark but playful irony about it. Not sure I'd have any clue what it was about if I didn't see the video. Gigging: Crumar Mojo 61, Hammond SKPro Home: Vintage Vibe

CrimsonianKing
The autotune kills it for me, liked the groove and the video though. Ken Beaumont
Yes, since the other videos by Gotye didn't use it. For a robotic type voice it was better than using a vocoder. Adan
re: autotune, I agree the context is good for it. It's so overdone and played out, in general, that I just have an adverse reaction every time I hear it. The context is indeed good for it, but i can't stand it no matter what. http://assets.diylol.com/hfs/131/7ac/2de/resized/musically-oblivious-8th-grader-meme-generator-autotune-like-seriously-saved-rock-and-roll-86f7b2.jpg "The purple piper plays his tune, The choir softly sing; Three lullabies in an ancient tongue, For the court of the crimson king"
Michelle ggurl
This is so hip it gives me chills. No sh!t, pretty incredible if you ask me. The sound and animation quality are first-rate, pretty clever and compact story line too. What do you know about its author? Michelle ggurl
The autotune kills it for me, yeah, me no likee that either I think in context with the video... it works. +1. Honestly, for me, it wasn't about the music. I liked the production value and the aspect of the music as a score for the animation. If the song played on the radio, I don't think I'd find it remarkable. But thing as a package is pretty damn cool, and really exploits the benefits of the modern phenomenon that is YouTube. Michelle ggurl
See, now, if I look at it in this context, I'm not sure of the entertainment value ... for me. I must be getting old, because to me, this isn't a satisfying live music performance. I feel like I'm watching a DJ. [video:youtube] What about y'all? Mark Zeger
Love the song + video. Probably wouldn't care one way or the other about the song alone. Extra credit for rhyming "16' diapason" if I heard the correct lyric.

Bobadohshe
Same artist, different song. Different vibe too, almost like two different people. Also wicked. Really wicked. Again probably not to everyone's taste. When the hook drops he sounds like Phil Collins. Loving this artist! Hahahaha....riiight. Show me the artist doing something new. I guess it would come down to your definition of the word 'new' in terms of music. Because you're right, all the elements that make up these pieces have been heard before. But they are being combined in new ways I'd say.
