That's a good one. IIRC there are some nice little blues things during the fade out? or just at the end of "The Honeydripper." Not my favorite Brother Jack record, but it's nice hearing him in a straight-up jazz session, but the first one I bought, I think

I've been playing with one of the sax players that Jack used to use. He told me some funny stories about him and Jack touring. One was that they were going down the highway and all of a sudden the hood of the car lifted up cracked the windshield. I think they just jerry rigged it and continued to their next destination.

D-Bon - Vinyl? j/k. :)

Not my favorite Brother Jack record

Which is your fave?

Man, that's way too hard to say. I sure wouldn't want to be without those sides like "Honedripper" and I think there's kind of a companion album to it from the same time, maybe even the same session.

He just did way too many great records to even try to choose.

That is one raunchy cover, the first one! I don't have that one!

Best D-minor blues ever, though, "Loose Foot" off ... I can't remember the name of the album. I even wrote a contrafact of the head (the only unusual thing is he goes to E instead of Bb getting to the A7+9 at least on the head) just to play at a place which only allowed originals because of not paying licensing fees. Well, maybe JOS's "The Boss" can be a contender for D-min blues, but it's close. Love Jack's feel.
