musicbysterling
I've been using my old trusty Motif Rack for years with a Roland RD-700GX with no hiccups whatsoever. Today, however, I connected my new Kurzweil PC3LE8 to it and immediately got a MIDI buffer full message. I can't even make a program change on the Kurzweil, much less play a note on it that this buffer full message rears its ugly head. I've scoured the Web and only see work arounds for the ES and EX models in which you apparently can turn Soft Thru off, which as far as I can discover, doesn't exist on the original Rack. Any suggestions as to what I'm missing here? Thanks Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here! J.K. e-keys
This is not a fix- but on a related midi note (no pun intended), in this Sound on Sound article it does mention timing issues when used in multi mode. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jun03/articles/yamahamotifrack.asp

Sven Golly
Okay; that eliminates a suspected data loop problem. Anytime I see symptoms like this, I suspect Active Sensing is on, as that sends out reams of data... you might want to look into that.
musicbysterling
After some additional failed attempts, I finally did a reset back to factory specs and reloaded my file from a SysEx app and now it works perfectly. Go figure. Thanks for all your help! Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here! J.K.
