¡3000 / 5 Years!

Recommended Posts

Just reached my 3,000 post mark and am almost to 5 years. Glad to be here. I've learned a ton, received support in a very real way, and offered the same. For me the forum is proof that the internet can be very good for us humans.

Now I gotta go practice!

Bobby, it's good to have you here. Your posts are among those I regularly look for as they almost always worth reading. Of course, there are a few clunkers among those 3,000...

Glad to have you around, Bobby! I even find your posts about playing at Pa-dray stadium interesting. ;)

I'm glad you're here, Bobby.

You were very nice to offer to lend me a keyboard when I came to LA for a gig a few years ago. Although I didn't take you up on the offer, it meant a lot. I appreciate your kindness.

My best to you! -

Bobby,

I know I'm unlikely to meet anyone on here but it's funny how you get a sense of who'd be a good guy to meet if everyone on here weren't from over the place.

BTW What are you practising at the moment - I'm just nosey.

Stillgigging: I lived in Edinburgh for 4 years and plan on returning to the 'faitherland' soon. I have lots of Scottish friends and love it there. I used to fantasize about being an American expat jazz/blues keyboardist in Edinburgh and opening up a jazz/blues restaurant there. One day maybe that dream will come true. Not anytime soon though.

Anyway at the moment I have 4 Christmas tunes to learn for a rehearsal tomorrow for a corporate gig later this month. Yesterday I had to learn a slew of Soul/Jazz tunes that I hadn't heard before in my life but all sounded amazing. Check this badass Lonnie Smith tune out:

I can see that working. There's a little bit of a jazz scene there - and Edinburgh is one of the world's great tourist cities.

Sounds like you're doing really well over there though - and you get sunshine.

"Faitherland" - you've nailed the lingo.
