orangefunk
Hey I was about to watch a concert last night on my PVR from months ago and caught a tiny bit of this band... I had never heard of them before. [video:youtube] Love this kind of thing... the video on my PVR goes a bit further with this song though... Prophet 08 playing some great textures instead of the Voyager... Also love this (I thinkits Robert Glasper on piano) [video:youtube] Would love to know what other people into this stuff are grooving to... Mitch Towne
Check out the documentary "Icons Among Us." It will point you in many good directions similar to these. Also, look up Sean Wayland - Australian pianist now residing in NYC. Check out his albums Pistachio and Live from Bar 55. yannis D
I always groove on MMW - it's a constant joy to me. But i love the norther european electro-jazz scene. Trumpet player Niels Peter Molvaer. And pianist Bugge Wesseltoft - i just bought his latest release with a laptop player. Piano and electronics and it's a trip. I also like french pianist Laurent de Wilde - check his electric releases like "Time 4 change", where he plays Rhodes. Dhafer Youssef is good, but sometimes he overdoes it with his voice Be grateful for what you've got - a Nord, a laptop and two hands
