lumenguitars-ben
Welcome to the forum and the world of guitar playing for that matter!! Q: What is an appropriate guitar for a beginner? I don't mind spending a little money, but I don't want to waste money buying a guitar that is too good for my current skill. A: You should try a Lumen guitar! HAHA...but seriously, I sell a mean guitar! Check out the site. Alright, that's enough of the sales pitch. Q: What are some good books, dvds, online(?) info, etc for someone wanting to teach himself? A: You HAVE to try www.songsterr.com It's awesome! You can choose from a huge library of tabs, and it plays them for you for free. You can pay too. That unlocks some other features. Try it - it's very cool. "Any other advice for a beginner?" If you're really into lead stuff, that's fine. Just make sure your practicing chords and chord changes. Look for and learn something called the "CAGED" theory. It will help a lot. Ben Williams www.lumenguitars.com
