Blue Chip OX7 Clonewheel module

Anyone familiar with this? A member at my church offered to loan it to the church indefinitely. Our rig doesn't have a good organ sound so I'm into trying it out. At 1st glance I'm not getting it to respond to MIDI & the front panel is a little on the cryptic side. I've Svengled but haven't been able to locate a manual yet. Anyone know where I might be able to find the manual?

thanks,

greg

I think Joey DeFrancesco endorsed it for a while.

Not exactly saying much... Joey D is the Jordan Rudess of the clonewheel world. ;)

Originally that sentence ended: but what hasn't he. I thought that would be unkind so I backed up over it.

Keyboard mag did a B3 shootout around year 2000 and included a version of this unit in the roundup. As I recall it came in last and wasn't given many high marks in any area.

Also, here is a user review of the unit from harmony central:

Note this from the review: "..Wall wart power is an unusual AC voltage, might have trouble finding a replacement when it dies (all wall warts die)..."

and this: ".. Some minor editing is possible from the front panel, but don't try to do it in a hurry. Real patch editing possible only through sysex .."

It doesn't sound like the climb is worth the view .....

I just saw him a couple weeks ago and was talking to him outside with a Hammond tech. He did not look health at all.
