This is why I don't use any presets, splits, layers, etc. I am impressed by players like you who do all that fancy stuff and keep it straight, but I ain't going there! I choose one patch for a particular song and leave it there. I have two keyboards (88 weighted, 61 unweighted) and if one fails I can get by with the other one.
