This is an unexpected and welcome thread. Thanks! As for me on my birthday, I am on tour in Mexico with a west coast version of the Glenn Miller big band, and we just rolled into an old town called León and have a show tonight. I didn't know a soul in the band before this tour (which started 3 day ago) and so, although it's a great group of old and young players, nobody here knows it's my birthday. I'll celebrate however I can, but I appreciate the thoughts from our KC community.

The question of the night is, will there be a brand new Steinway D waiting for me at the gig like there was 2 nights ago, or a Motif ES 8 like last night?

Gotta be in the lobby in 2 hours, and then we'll walk to the venue, all 17 of Tuxedoed gringos through this dusty and ancient town. Should be quite a sight. :idk

Happy Birthday Bobby! 17 of you? So that's 16 birthday shots, right? That Motif may be a Steinway (to you) by the end of the night!

Hey Bobby,

Wished you HB on Facebook and wanted to do it here as well. Hope it's a great one!

After the gig tonight in downtown León at this cool old theatre, we went back to our hotel which is on this big plaza. Then we drank. And went to another bar and drank some more. And when that bar closed down, we went to a 3rd bar and drank and talked music with our 2 Mexican trumpet players and a couple other cool dudes from the band. Then we had hot dogs on the street and they were damnnn good. Now I'm back at the hotel and it's 3 AM and it's sleepy time. Thanks everybody!
