CrimsonianKing
and people think she is cutting edge. She's got nothing on Peter Gabriel. And he's got nothing on Arthur Brown, for that matter But really, she isn't doing anything new, she's just in the right place at the right time. CEB
I heard an interview where Genesis was talking about the time that Peter wore this costume that the foam head piece was so big he couldn't get close enough to the mic to be heard singing so there no vocals in the mix on that song. ProfD
Every generation feels the same way about the current. Eventually, we become our parents. Otherwise, these kids are doing just fine with with their skinny jeans, non-matching outfits, weird hair styles/cuts and a singing style bordering on suicide. A lot of what I see and hear today reminds me of the 80s. PD "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return."--E. But I still think the kidz with pants hanging below their asses take the cake. And on the same tangent: 1925: Jazz isn't music! 1955: Rock and Roll isn't music! 1990: Rap isn't music! 2010: Lady Gaga isn't ... isn't ... um ... what the heck IS she? Theo Verelst
Rap isn't music. Rock wasn't music for either wise-to-morons or hypocrite church-goers probably, Jazz was advanced and wanted to be cool, and the swing I'd say was most certainly considered music by most folks.
