bloodsample
I don't own any vintage synths so take this with a grain of salt. But I say life's too short to be paranoid about this kind of stuff. If it gives you a better sound, makes you look good or more importantly makes you feel good to play a vintage synth on stage by all means do it! So it gets stolen, big deal. It's just an object (sure it's worth money but it's not the end of the world). You can't put a price on the thrill you get for sharing your sounds with other people. Or if you want you can try to cover up the brand/logo/name and hopefully less experienced thieves will think it's just an old rusty synth that isn't worth the effort. The good thing about these old beasts as that they don't make for an easy getaway unless you leave the thing hidden backstage and unattended for a good 30 mins. The Real MC
I gig with my Minimoog, Memorymoog, and Taurus pedals. They have all been hot-rodded to be more reliable on the road and I carry them in Anvil cases.
Odyssian
You're one brave soul! Have any of those Moogs ever sustained any damage while gigging with them?
The Real MC
No damage while gigging. Years ago I regularly gigged with a Polymoog. I didn't know at the time that they dropped like flies - mine was a good one and I never had problems. I later learned that mine was a late serial with all the reliability upgrades. Yeah I've been lucky gigging with Moogs.
