Hi Guys,

I'm new around here, so thought I'd drop in and say hi. I know forums are all about giving to the community, so I thought I'd let you guys know about this cool guitar player, I've been following for a few years. I saw him about 4 years ago play in a tiny venue in London, while on vacation. His name is Scott Mckeon and his playing is simply jaw dropping. I found a video of him on youtube where he talks about all the gear he uses. He got a given a 1962 Strat at 11 years old...I can't help but be jealous of that! Lucky kid, he must have had a great start in life, when it comes to the blues.

Check out the video...

Anyway, thanks for reading guys, looking forward to getting to know y'all!

Welcome aboard Bad, boy you just can't beat that sound now can you? Probably sound better if he sold me that old dusty amp for $100 and switched to a nice Behringer solid state unit :D That's an inside joke of recent. Are you a real musician or a wanker liek the ol' left hander here? great forum as you will discover, no gnashing of teeth over politics or any ofthat rot, just nice folks talking music.

Hi Lefty,

Thank you for the nice welcome!

I have a couple of reissue Strats I play with but would love to get my hands on an original like Scott's...maybe one day.

I like to think of myself as a real musician. I don't really play live much these days but I teach guitar for a living, so that helps me keep my skills up to scratch.

What's your axe of choice? I guess being a lefty doesn't give you too many options to choose from?

I have a three way tie for fav, an American Series deluxe Strat in chrome silver, Epi Casino natural finish and a Carvin CS (LP clone)gold top. I put a Bigsby on the Carvin so it weighs a ton but all in all the Carvin would probably be my keeper if I could only have one. Only one guitar - Hah! Can you imagine? When I was a wee lad there were really no lefty guitars but now there are plenty of choices, thanks mostly to Fender and Carvin. Gary's Guitars here in Cincy has a lefty '57 Strat if I only had $37K in my cigar box stash.

I'm not sure why nobody else is jumping in to welcome you, nothing personal I'm sure but usually you get more replies than this. Maybe they're all actually doing work at work! Heh.

Welcome aboard Badwatcher!

Scott has alot of potential... wish I was that advanced at his tender age. :D

My axes of choice are a 1990 LP Standard, 1990 Custom Shop Strat, 2002 Carvin DC 150, 2003 Godin Flat Five and a 61' Martin 00-18. I play through a Fender Deville 4x10 w/ a Boss GT-10 Board. Next on my most wanted list is a Dr. Z Maz Jr. 2x10 NR

Hi guys,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!

Gary's Guitars here in Cincy has a lefty '57 Strat if I only had $37K in my cigar box stash.

$37k? Sounds like a bargain. Haha, I wish!

Anyone here use a Variax? I tried one of the old ones a few years back and hated how they played. I've just been reading about these new James Tyler ones, they look like they could be a significant improvement. I must say I'd enjoy the convenience of having all those sounds but I'm a stickler for a good old fashioned strat.

What do you think?
