Ross Brown
Pinetop Lost a great one. I was actually just thinking about him the other day. I was reading about his upcoming gigs..... Groove Mama
Love this epitaph: "Two cheeseburgers, apple pie, a cigarette and a pretty girl was all he wanted." Ah, the simple pleasures of life! Richard W
I saw Pinetop play with Muddy Waters twice, when I was in college in Charlottesville, VA--probably around 1979-1980. There was joint there called The Mine Shaft which was a frequent venue for blues bands. As the name suggested, it was a tight fit. I was sitting close enough to the stage that Muddy shook my hand after his final bow and I didn't even have to get out of my chair. That was a real treat to see those two giants perform. I can imagine the jam session now underway between Pinetop and Muddy in the Great Beyond. "Everyone wants to change the world, but no one thinks of changing themselves."
