BiC Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 This is definitely a future toy... check it out: http://www.empresseffects.com/?page=multidrive "Treat your wife with honor, respect, and understanding as you live together so that you can pray effectively as husband and wife." 1 Peter 3:7
Griffinator Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Fits under someone's (I think it was Guitarzan) description of WHY ALL THE ANNOYING REVERB?!?!? A bunch of loud, obnoxious music I USED to make with friends.
Caevan O'Shite Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 They make EXCELLENT pedals, regardless of any poorly done examples in videos and cips. Their phasers and tremolos are SWEET!! I very nearly bought one of each a while back... wish I had... Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _
picker Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Empress Pedals look really, er, "impressive" , but they want so freakin' much for 'em, I couldn't justify buying them even if I could afford them. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

Yeah, that's why I MIGHT have bought one or two WHEN I COULD AFFORD 'EM (I had a good bit of overtime-pay and bought a bunch of gear that I'd long wanted in a massive G.A.S. expulsion and have been glad I did when I could!), but currently have no plans of shoppin' 'em or anything in their price-range... not for a LONG while... !! I mean, sometimes you "get what you pay for", in quality and features; these Empress pedals almost always have genuinely unique, cool features that can't be found elsewhere, are very thoughtfully designed, and are of a VERY high caliber of quality. If they have what one wants and one can't get quite the same elsewhere, then they'd be "justifiable" at any price affordable by the purchaser; if not, if they're just highfalutin but unnecessary quality and coolness where something simpler and less expensive (often MUCH less expensive!!) will do, then of course, they're NOT "justifiable" in that case! I get a LOT of miles out of the phaser, tremolo/stereo-panner, and fuzz sounds in my digital-modeler; I'd love to have real pedals for those sounds- and real GOOD ones- but the canned, virtual, digital sims will do, and do well, and then some for me for quite a bit of the foreseeable future! BiC Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 That purely depends on how deep each individual's pockets are. What's pricey in someone else's eyes might not be pricey in mine. Caevan O'Shite Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Buy what you want and need the first time, and you won't have to buy it again. ANYWAYS, those look to be really cool pedals, Rod; keep us posted! Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _
