omvibes Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Hi all, Now that the Stage 2 is coming out with increased memory, does anyone think a memory expansion retrofit for NE3s may become viable? Additional hardware or software/ memory board? If not from Nord, maybe a third party company out there would be interested (similar to the drawbar box which was created a while back)? I can't afford anything like the Stage 2 at the moment, so I would certainly be interested if something became available, and I would assume that some of the many NE3 owners out there would be as well? Any possible mileage in this? What do people think?
funkphingerz88 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Nord dont generally offer expansions so I would say that this won't happen. Maybe there'll be a ne3ex at some point... Chief Product Officer at Rhodes®. Project leader and designer of the Rhodes MK8 piano and V8 Plug-in.

Their business model has been software upgrades and an ever increasing expansion library. The E3 is price competitive (lots of B-Stock out there). I can't imagine any reason for them to court disaster when they can release an E3-EX in a another year and increase the price another 300 bars of gold-pressed latinum by upgrading the organ to full C2 specs and doubling the memory and adding a controller feature or two and offering it in black.
