chammell Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I'm looking for ideas to attach a music stand to my Apex keyboard stand. I've got space above my keyboard on the column. I'd rather not just put a separate stand on the floor.
Sven Golly Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Is this an older Apex, or one of the new ones? If the latter, which one (AX-90 or AX-48 Pro?) Assuming it's an older Apex: 1) Pick up the mic boom attachment; this gives you an upright cylindrical column (no need for the mic boom itself, just the upright... check the pics if you need help visualizing this) 2) Buy a QuikLok (or alternate) music stand that attaches to mic stands; these are generally meant for the larger diameter tubes of regular mic stands, but can be tightened enough to fasten to the USS mic attachment base. http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/quality,85/brand,zzounds/AX-48BP-a2ac2989688d7002d93b1b744b71947d.jpg http://www.drumza.com/images/QuikLokMS303ChromeClampOnSheetMusicHolderforMicrophoneStandSmall.jpg Note that you'll have to adjust the upper tier support high enough so that the mic boom extends above the top of the Apex, otherwise the QuikLok won't be able to attach (the stand will be in the way). Anyway, that's a good start.
