Michel Leclerc Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f141/michelleclerc/My%20Pics/100_0188.jpg This rig pic can be deceiving as seen in the next pic the rig is smaller then it first appeared... http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f141/michelleclerc/My%20gear/100_0189.jpg Well the surprise continues on with the full body tone of that rig sounding a lot bigger than it's size... Markbass really pull it off here in my opinion. This rig delivers the full bottom sound that I love for my 5 string and does this very loudly as well while saving me the aggravation of a sore back the morning after the gig... No more heavy 4 x 10's lifting for me Thank You... Markbass SA-450 head & (2x) NY-604 (4 x 6") cabinets 500w rms & 71lbs in total weight with a 18" x 18" footprint So Please so me and others your Compact Mighty Rig and do tell us what you love about it...
jcadmus Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I'm not as compact as that, but I go with a modular approach. I don't have a single piece of gear that weighs more than 70 pounds, so I can handle each piece by myself. And I use a moving dolly to move things around. I have my 500-watt amp racked in an SKB case with a power conditioner and compressor, and then I have two 2x10s and one 1x15 I can use in any combination, depending on what I need for a particular gig. I've never used all three together -- kind of afraid to. "Tours widely in the southwestern tip of Kentucky"
WCriley Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 My current gig-rig weighs in at under 65 lbs. G-K 1001RB = 23 lbs + a couple for the case. fEARful 12/6 cab = 38 lbs. Probably wouldn't hold up to 2 full stacks at war volume without a 2nd cab, but it can drown out drummers.
Ross Brown Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I have a big one. "When I take a stroll down Jackass Lane it is usually to see someone that is already there" Mrs. Brown

I've never used all three together -- kind of afraid to. I have tried few compact rigss in the last few years (ie: head & (2x) 2x10" or 1x12" and 2x10" combos with extension speakers) but all except for an Eden WT550 & (2x) D112XLT cabs came close to the combination of weight, versatility and tone I was looking for but this Markbass rig is it for me... If I ever have to do bigger stages at higher volume I might swap the SA-450 for their SD-1200 head for full 600w rms to each cabs.
WCriley Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I have a big one. Ross: You're a big...um..umm...you know..."one".

Michel Leclerc Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 http://www.americanmusical.com/ProductImages/Large/p2732.jpg Run direct...doesn't get any smaller! True ! But I prefer to have an amp next to me on stage call me old fashion... Besides for many smaller gigs that I do with my Latin Instrumental band there's no PA involve.
