BiC Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Abigail is my niece from my Wife's side. She's already played a few gigs in her neck of the woods. http://www.youtube.com/user/AbigailOsteenMusic "Treat your wife with honor, respect, and understanding as you live together so that you can pray effectively as husband and wife." 1 Peter 3:7
Caevan O'Shite Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Nice singing, nice guitar playing, keep it up! Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _
skipclone 1 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Hey she`s really good! she looks confident up there, definitely keep it up. Same old surprises, brand new cliches- Skipsounds on Soundclick: www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandid=602491
BiC Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 She's very open to constructive criticism as well. Back in Sept, she performed her own songs for myself and a few in-laws in order to receive constructive criticism. That was also when I began teaching her about the electric guitar, giving her a few techy lessons on a right-handed guitar, although she is a lefty. Little Miss Jimi was holding it upside down... Bluesape Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Really nice! I find capos limiting for new players, and its too bad people keep walking into the shot, but she already has confidence, and sings well. Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
BiC Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 Her FB page more photos, etc... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Abigail-Osteen/116102115113381 "Treat your wife with honor, respect, and understanding as you live together so that you can pray effectively as husband and wife." 1 Peter 3:7
picker Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Confident and able. Good voice, too. She does need to loosen up a tad, but that will come with experience. I don't have a problem with capos, I like the tone they deliver. Teach that girl to play some lead, and she'll go far! Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
desertbluesman Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 She is going places if she keeps at it....... dbm If it sounds good, it is good !! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=143231&content=music
Strategery Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Very good! I'd have her trying out for Am. Idol when she turns 15 for sure. Randy "Just play!"
Chad Thorne Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 You guys are good. I would have expected at least one joke about showing love to a 14-year-old by now. I myself am exhausted from the effort of restraining myself. Nice voice, nice playing. And we can always use more lefty players!
BiC Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 She scoffs at American Idol..., for now at least. Very good! I'd have her trying out for Am. Idol when she turns 15 for sure. BiC Posted February 26, 2011 Author Posted February 26, 2011 I'm certain that's because they know she's my niece, and I've earned their respect to some extent. Thanx for showing restraint... You guys are good. I would have expected at least one joke about showing love to a 14-year-old by now. I myself am exhausted from the effort of restraining myself. Strategery Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 THe only reason no one did...is because everyone would've went... PERV!!!! Hey, don't knock IDOL...many of them have gone far from that show. Randy "Just play!"
alfonso Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 She's talented and has good numbers. I might be a bit old school, but I think that growing slowly with local gigs, learning to interact with a band, getting more in control of her artistic personality, developing an inner urge to express herself rather than dreaming a showbiz career might make a much better musician of her, and probably a better person too, than being thrown immediately in a world where she would be a lemon to squeeze and throw away if not functional to rules that have nothing to do with the genuine pleasure she gets from what she does. My 0,02..... Ah...I "liked" her on YT. Guess the Amp .... now it's finished... Here it is!
pinkjimiphoton Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 she sounds great to me, nice voice, good playing! tell her to keep it coming! http://www.sweetrelief.org/ https://www.wepay.com/donations/memorial-stone-for-juliane-pocius
Winston Psmith Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 All she really needs is a better guitar, and a little time - very, nice, brother! "Monsters are real, and Ghosts are real too.
