Caevan O'Shite Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 I just recently purchased a Mesa TransAtlantic TA-15. If you're looking for a killer sound with lots of versatility (Vox AC, Marshall Plexi, Tweed, Boogie Lead), this could be it. It's lunchbox style, 12 pounds I think, and is matched to a 90watt Celestion speaker. I haven't found it to do anything totally scooped, but for about everything else, this amp has been totally inspirational, so far....It maxes out at 25 watts, but it's more than loud enough for any gig I have had. I also use ToneBone Classic and Hot British pedals with it, and it is extremely pedal friendly. I have gotten approached by a lot of guitarists since switching to this amp. Hope this helps Welcome to the GPF, MisterTravesty! Sounds like a REALLY cool amp. I have and love a Radial Tonebone Plexitube, myself; and I also want their Trimode, as well. The Plexitube's 2nd/"Lead" Channel is basically an upgraded, more featuresome Hot British, and its 1st/"Rhythm" channel is voiced with more clarity, transparency, and a touch more dynamic response; I find that I use the 2nd/"Rhythm"-Channel the most, for rhythm AND lead- it's voiced beautifully and can really bring the EVH "brown"/"plexi" type tones. If you like the Classic and Hot British, DEFINITELY consider upgrading to their Trimode and Plexitube kin! I can HIGHLY recommend that you do. I tried the Plexitube out with both an Orange Tiny Terror with a Celestion Vintage-30 loaded Orange closed-back 2x12, and a Fuchs Lucky 7 with the same cab, and also a couple of Budda cabs, closed- and open-backed. I believe that the Plexitube would work wonderfully with your Mesa TransAtlantic TA-15 "lunchbox", and that you'd love its additional "Rhythm" channel. The Plexitube is REALLY, AWESOMELY SICK when fed by a Foxrox Octron, both pedals on, the Octron supplying both octave-up octave-fuzz like an Octavia, and fat octave-down fuzz a la Mutron Octave-Divider, along with a buffered clean/straight "Direct" signal mixed in. The addition of some classic orange MXR Phase 90 type phase-shifting is the icing on the cake... !! http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs902.ash1/181009_177189922324160_100000994594751_389262_122641_n.jpg Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do? ~ Caevan James-Michael Miller-O'Shite ~ _ ___ _ Leprechaun, Esquire _ ___ _
