Omnisphere 1.5 Update

We are proud to announce a major new version of our award-winning Power Synth Omnisphere® - which includes a host of new features, in particular a new interactive interface called The Orb offering stunning real-time synthesis manipulation capabilities, along with many deeply expanded additions to the synthesis engine and user interface. The update also includes many important user-requested features such as the new 5-Column Browser view and support for polyphonic aftertouch. The new version also includes a significant update to the factory patch library - 780 brand new patches which take advantage of all the new sound design capabilities and brings the total number of included sounds to over 8,000.

Best,

Geoff

On my way to " the lab" in a couple of minutes to update. Already have the iPad app installed. Particularly stoked for the polyphonic aftertouch, like Marzzz.

I installed it two days ago, then basically spent about two hours playing variations of "Alaska" and the "Blade Runner" theme! Just waiting for the imminent release of the iPad2....

From another thread recently, I have trialled and then bought PSP Vintage Warmer 2; run Omnisphere thru that and you may finally decide you don't need hardware....!

Just had my first run through. Literally spent an hour with a little 2 bar phrase looped, playing with the Orb on my iPad and changing sounds.

Wow........unbelievable.

Haven't even explored poly aftertouch yet. Need to bring my vax77 downstairs later.

I could spend days doing nothing but noodling around in Omnisphere.

It's amazing he can keep giving all these updates away for free. I paid $99 to upgrade from Atmosphere to Omnisphere but got Trillium as a free upgrade because of the Mac Intel UB thing. So in the last five years I've spent $99 and have gotten two new incredible synths with these huge updates coming every year or so.

Best company in the industry, IMO.

Same here--plus we have access to the V.I.P. Patch Library because we have both Omnisphere and Trillium.

Best value in the industry.

I just got Omnisphere on Friday, and updated immediately. It sounds amazing, and I'm sorry I waited so long to buy this VST. I grew up with hardware. Had a ton of real analogs, but between Omnisphere and OP-X, I'm becoming a convert. However, you can never take away my Hammond or Moog Old School. They have a magic all their own.

I thought it was a bargain when I bought it for $500 a year ago, but its value just keeps going up. There are very few companies that are this generous to their current customers.

Great upgrade..If only some of the other sw companies were as easy and enjoyable to deal with. Not to mention the great products they put out. I use all of them everyday. Can you imagine what the RMX upgrade, if n when, will be like? Great stuff Spectra, keep it up..

I downloaded the upgrade last night, and then watched the NAMM demo.

Tonight I install, and then it will be the next day.....

I too don't understand how they can keep doing these terrific upgrades for free. I guess all the new converts are bringing in the bacon.

Another reason to snag an iPad as well....

Way to go Spectrasonics.

I got it up and running last night. Way cool update.

The Orb is a real gas, as are the new patches (close to 800?).

An added bonus is the new 32bit install has fixed an install bug from the previous 32bit install which I couldn't get working.

Now I have it humming in 32/64bit.

Sweet.

It's also been announced that some patches have been made very Eigenharp-friendly.

I bought Omnisphere a few weeks ago and used it for the first time in a rush session last Thursday, and was blown away. I find the breadth and the ease of mixing much better than with Absynth, Alchemy, or other synths that I turn to for sci-fi textures.

Just got back from a few days in L.A. so haven't had time for the update yet, but have been very impressed with Eric Persing's commitment to his loyal customer base.

With the 1.5 update, I have a feeling this is now going to be my first-call synth for anything outside the traditional analog domain (for which I use my RA hardware).
