Junior 1 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Anyone have any input on Dillion guitars? I have a chance to pick up a PRS clone for $250.
Lokair Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I would say buy and try it out, you could always ebay it for what you have in it. Nothing to lose and you may find out its a good guitar. My only experience is a friend has one of their basses, its his live bass, he likes it. Bluesape Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Decent guitars for the price. Their LP clones seem well finished, and sound OK. Check the neck joint, fret ends, and tuners, and spend a fair amount of time evaluating the tone and playability. If able to A-B it against the real thing, ya may find it's a bargain, or that it falls short.... Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

Junior 1 Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 The guitar is with an old friend. It's a green flame finish, not my favorite, and as new. Has recessed knobs and he's put locking tuners on it. Nice fret ends and a chunky neck. I don't have a hummbucker guitar,so it would be a different sound for me. I'm going to give it a try over the weekend. Thanks for the input.
GreySeraph Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I apologize for going against the grain, but unless you really need a guitar for something asap, it's almost never a good thing to buy a guitar without trying it, regardless of if it's $100 or $10,000. There's too many factors in guitar voodoo to deal with it. I mean, if you have $250 to just drop in hopes you like the guitar, then go for it (realize it's a gamble, regardless of however many of the same guitar you've tried or all of the reviews from other guitarists, because each guitar is different).
