Waynester Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Hi everyone i`m here in the UK, we have a builder doing some work at our home and he has offered me a Yamaha YDP-121 Digital Piano for hardly any money at all, i`m a professional keyboard player, but wondered if it would be any good for messing about on in the bedroom, good piano sounds? can only find a few clips on YouTube, wondered if any of you own one or have any MP3 clips i could hear of the various sounds (especially Grand Piano) Thanks Guys Roland Fantom X8 (SRX-04, SRX-07, SRX-11, SRX-12) - Yamaha Motif ES7 - Kawai MP11 - Hammond XK-1C - Korg TR Rack - Korg SG Rack - Quiklok Z72 - Quiklok SL930 - Electrovoice SXA360's
Sven Golly Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Well, that's a 10-year-old piano, and is a furniture style version of that period's P-series piano (maybe the P120?). Only 5 sounds, a mediocre action that is now 10 years old... if it's free, take it, but if they want any cash for it, I'd probably pass and grab yourself a P85 or P95 ... better sounds, newer action. Basically, YDP (Arius) models have 2-year warranties, so 10 years is a hell of a lot of time past warranty, unless it's been in storage all this time. If it's been played regularly, it'll be worn pretty well.
