DonaldM
Veldeman - I like the image you present here in this lyric. One thing I notice, though, is that the image seems to shift. As it starts out, I get the image of a loving father singing to his sleeping daughter. But then you bring in the line "I don't want to fight no more..." and the image seems it could be a marital or lover's quarrel. But the end seems to go back to the sleeping child. Personally, it seems the direction is a lullaby of a father to his daughter and a change of those two lines would probably do the trick. What do you think? There are 10 kinds of people in the world...those who can read binary, and those who can't.
veldeman
i can definitly see where your coming from..but i'd say its more of a blues reference wen i say 'child' or 'oh lord' or things like that. i have a very basic understanding of blues through the music of led zeppelin..thats just how i write my songs i suppose. but good thinking i can see where some may get confused on that.
