Wow, I have listened to Garner all my life and read his biography. This is the first time I have ever heard him speak, I'm thrilled to to see him interviewd:

Thanks for the video, J+. I don't think I ever heard him speak either. You can see what a happy guy he was and open to anything, which reflects in his playing.

 

That story he told about his piano lessons was funny and familiar. I was playing by ear as a kid and went for lessons to learn how to read. I read just enough to memorize the songs. The teacher caught me putting in a few notes that weren't on the page and blew my cover. :freak:
