jlrush
Although I haven't posted a lot lately I've been here several times a week just reading what y'all are doing. I picked up this little number a few weeks ago to use on the two man 'acoustic', read quiet, gigs I've been doing lately. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r170/63p-bass/101_0225.jpg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r170/63p-bass/101_0225.jpg http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r170/63p-bass/101_0227.jpg The neck is slim and the action low and it feels like the Jazz necks on my two Fenders. After some string height adjustments I have just the amount of mwah that I wanted. The color is deceiving in the pics. It's actually a transparent red and shows the grain nicely. The pointy headstock seems a little out of place for a fretless but it is what it is. It turned out to be just the right deal at the right time. Paul K
Ha! Congrats! Nice beast! Things are just the way they are, and they're only going to get worse.
jlrush
This is a Dean Edge and is pretty nice for an intermediate bass. Here's the second pic that I meant to put in the original post. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r170/63p-bass/101_0226.jpg Visit my band's new web site. www.themojoroots.com

Phil W
Sweet, I'd like to see a pic that shows the grain through the red colour - must look good. What strings do you have on it? http://philwbass.com

jlrush
Thanks Anthony. I do like owning a fretless bass. Phil, here's another shot taken indoors with a flash. This pic shows some of the mottling and a bit of nice grain in the lower left. It looks Fiesta Red in these shots, but it's really closer to Candy Apple Red, except a little darker with a dye used as the toner. It had D'A or EB rounds on it and I installed a set of TI Jazz Flats. I really like practicing with it unplugged. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r170/63p-bass/101_0231.jpg Visit my band's new web site. www.themojoroots.com
b5pilot
Nice looking bass! That neck just looks like it would be comfortable. Congrats and happy jamming! Lydian mode? kenfxj
Very nice. I like the red. I've recently cobbled together my own fretless Fender/Squier amalgam. I'll have to take a pic or two. Push the button Frank.
SteveC
Nice! We all need a fretless in the arsenal! I'm still debating that. I got a trade offer for my CS jazz - a Manne 5 string fretless. Maybe I should get a fretless again...
Bottom End
Nice! "Call me what instrument you will, though you can fret me, yet you cannot play upon me.'-Hamlet Guitar solos last 30 seconds, the bass line lasts for the whole song.
Seamy ALB
Sweet bass & health to play. Funny I've been doing a fair few of those duo type gigs this year and I use my P bass. I bet a fretless would be nice!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Little-Bitter/185235472447
jlrush
Thanks again guys. Seamy, I like the duo and trio gigs. They're a nice change of pace and the money is usually pretty good too. The fretless works nicely for these quieter jobs. Visit my band's new web site. www.themojoroots.com
Chad Thorne
My 5-string is a Dean Edge and I think it delivers a lot of value for not a big price. Enjoy yours in good health!

jlrush
Well, if I had the opportunity I'd prefer to have an MIA Fender or a Music Man fretless, but the Dean will be just fine until then. Davo-London
I have 2 fretted and 2 fretless - seems about right to me. Davo "We will make you bob your head whether you want to or not". - David Sisk
yourlord
I have 2 fretted, and 2 fretless. I haven't touched a fretted bass in over a year now. Generally, if given a choice, I choose fretless. Nice bass, and enjoy that fretless goodness! Feel free to visit my band's site Delusional Mind
