New fretless bass.

Although I haven't posted a lot lately I've been here several times a week just reading what y'all are doing.

I picked up this little number a few weeks ago to use on the two man 'acoustic', read quiet, gigs I've been doing lately.

The neck is slim and the action low and it feels like the Jazz necks on my two Fenders. After some string height adjustments I have just the amount of mwah that I wanted.

The color is deceiving in the pics. It's actually a transparent red and shows the grain nicely. The pointy headstock seems a little out of place for a fretless but it is what it is. It turned out to be just the right deal at the right time.

This is a Dean Edge and is pretty nice for an intermediate bass.

Here's the second pic that I meant to put in the original post.

Thanks Anthony. I do like owning a fretless bass.

Phil, here's another shot taken indoors with a flash. This pic shows some of the mottling and a bit of nice grain in the lower left. It looks Fiesta Red in these shots, but it's really closer to Candy Apple Red, except a little darker with a dye used as the toner.

It had D'A or EB rounds on it and I installed a set of TI Jazz Flats. I really like practicing with it unplugged.

Thanks again guys. Seamy, I like the duo and trio gigs. They're a nice change of pace and the money is usually pretty good too. The fretless works nicely for these quieter jobs.
