mynameisdanno
Reviving zombie thread! Turns out "Don't Do Me Like That" was actually a Vox organ (through a Leslie, one assumes), according to Mr. Tench. See the Sept 2014 issue of Keyboard, page 61, the sidebar on the Arturia Vox Continental V review.
JohnH
Yea I saw that. There's gotta be some trick going on with that Vox, as in it's being sent through a Leslie.
tommybuoy
was staining the deck today and "don't do me like that" came on... For many years, I had been wondering how the hammond in that tune took on such a mechanical nuance. Like discrete little analog enveloping that ends up sounding too cool. So you're saying it was a malfunctioning vibrato unit? I absolutely love it. And I want to know how to get that sound on my XK-3C. I mean - that really sounds good to me. Not unpleasant at all! I would have to believe if we had a malfunctioning B3 that sounded like that -- well - we would keep it - and not change a thing. And record with it. I know i would. :-)
