Wally Malone
Santa Cruz musicians are in morning for our friend and great drummer Jimmy Baum. He was shot and killed by his wife (they were separated) and she then committed suicide. Santa Cruz Sentinel news story: http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/ci_16171330 RIP Jimmy! I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!

Mark Schmieder
Sad story; sorry to hear of your loss (and that of the community). I'm not sure whether I ever met Jimmy or not, but have passed this along to some of my jazz colleagues in the SF area in case any of them knew or worked with him. Wally Malone
The article linked above was a front page story. The drummer that was interviewed, Steve Robertson, is one of the top call drummers in the area. Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
