Wally Malone
I've been playing the last two weeks after laying off due to my surgery and am back to cutting my finger nails once a week. I had the opportunity to play out this last Saturday as one of my best friends and drummer had his 50th birthday party. I took my Kubicki, GK 800RB and my Accugroove Tri-112. It was outdoors and the PA was used only for the vocals. When I arrived one of the other bass players had his rig set up that included a Carvin 410 cabinet and he had a 150 watt Crate for an amp. I suggested that I sit my Accugroove on top of his cab and we use both cabs with the GK800RB since they were both 8 ohm cabs. I'm always still amazed how good the GK is after having it for all these years. There were a number of bass players that played throughout the evening and every one sounded good through this rig. Even owning my Stewart 2.1 and my Read Purity preamp I always amazed at the sound of the GK! Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make! As for cutting finger nails, for some reason mine are more brittle now than they used to be. If I don't keep them short I end up breaking them doing other chores. Then I have to contend with sore fingers when I strap the bass on.

Wally Malone
Great you are back playing...I started back this week! And great to see you're back at it as well Phil! I used to get really hung up on missing a day or two playing my bass. In the last six months I had two times where I missed almost two months and to be honest it was no big deal. It is sort of like riding a bike. Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
wraub
It's just a little harder putting playing cards in the strings... Play in good health, Wally (and Phil)! Peace, wraub I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.
_Sweet Willie_
Welcome back to the game, Wally! An old GK800RB saved my butt at a gig this past winter when another head I was borrowing crapped out. It sounded quite nice into a Bag End 2x10. It's just a little harder putting playing cards in the strings... That's a brilliant little bit of subtle prose. Thank you. Peace. --Dub $$ spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk.
Wally Malone
The GK800RB is still what is found for backlines at many festivals. Mine is a real workhorse after having for all these years.
