picker
The local GC will take my SWR SM-500 and $200 for this amp. Good deal or not? Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
davio
Decent deal. Numbers look about right from used units online. You won't have to worry about amp pieces fighting eachother. However, there are several reliability complaints on Harmony Central.
jlrush
I really like the way the 210XLT cab sounds, and the Eden heads are sweet. Will they let you gig with it before you commit to buy it? picker
There's a 30 day period where I can return it if I don't like it. But I'm hopeful that whatever the problem is with my SWR, it can be worked out. I had it out at GC when I was trying the Eden out, and the SWR kicks the Eden's butt in pretty much every way. jlrush
Yes SWR equipment sounds good too, so does Ampeg. It all comes down to personal preference in the end. I'd take any of those brands in about 500W and two 2x10's if I had the coin. Visit my band's new web site. www.themojoroots.com
b5pilot
Sounds good to me but I'm a fan of Eden amps. Sounds like you prefer your SWR. It's all up to you but I would try it out thoroughly and make sure you like it. Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it. http://www.myspace.com/theeldoradosband
jcadmus
Add a D210XST cab to that rig and you'll be smokin'. "Tours widely in the southwestern tip of Kentucky"
Wally Malone
Doesn't look like they hit the streets yet but David Nordschow has a new company: http://www.dnaamps.com/ Wally I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make! rumpelstiltskin.
i like eden a lot more than i like SWR. i don't see a lot of similarity between the two (apart from "enhance" mid-scoop knobs), so i wonder why you want to change. both are heavy, which isn't what i'm into. robb. because i like people. picker
I was considering just trying to get out from under my amp, see if another one would work better for me. I've worked with two 2x10 combo's in the past with good results, and I've heard such good things about Eden equipment that I thought "what the heck?" This one would sound much better with an extension cab, I am certain of that. But as Davio said above, some of the remarks on Harmony Central regarding that model's reliability make me nervous. Apparently, you can get a lemon from the Eden folks, and the customer service sux when you do. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else. mro
I run a Eden WT550 and 2 SWR 2x10 cabs. I am very satisfied with tone and weight. The Eden amp is very controllable and has an excellent parametric EQ section. I bought mine used on ebay, no issues at all.Good luck.
