fingertalkin
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/msg/1600624048.html Anyone? How do you sign a computer screen?
jeremy c
Saw one in a local store yesterday for $699. {which is what I believe they sold for when they originally came out. Fender has been raising the price steadily for the last few years.) Free download of my cd!.
fingertalkin
Yep, that's right. When I bought my first "real" bass, it was between the Aerodyne and the BenLoy. I don't remember now what I liked more about the Aerodyne. It wasn't much of a price difference....maybe a $100 or so. How do you sign a computer screen? Bottom End
Saving my cash for the 50th anniversary J-Bass, IF they release it in a lefty. davio
It's missing a string.
calypsocoral
Saving my cash for the 50th anniversary J-Bass, IF they release it in a lefty. It's a sweet-looking bass. but now G&L is making one called the "JB" (original name, I know). And I like G&L basses. In fact, an L-2000 has a permanent spot on my "future acquisitions" list... Bottom End
I bought a lefty Tribute last summer and I am very happy with it. I can only imagine the US made would be even better. If G & L makes a left 5 string before Fender does, they'll get my money. Kudoes to Fender, at least they make lefties at various price points, there are several manufacturers who don't even bother. plankspanker13
For a 5-string J, a lefty's most cost-effective bet would be to go Carvin. Bottom End
I've been mulling that option over, too. I don't NEED a Pbass or a 5 string, but if I could get a 5 string P Bass, I'd kill too birds with stone. I'm not opposed to Carvin, but I too am a Fender fan. Tom Capasso
I bought a BenLoy from JBFLA this time last year. It's not my main bass, but I like it very much. I wish the body was lighter, but it plays and sounds very very very nice. Tom www.stoneflyrocks.com Acoustic Color Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Jonathan Hughes
I know Ben Loy frequents this board, but I'm unable to figure out what a Benloy bass is. Anyone?
kenfxj
It's a black Fender Jazz with a blocked maple board and Badass II bridge. The singer/bassist from Rush sometimes uses one. Push the button Frank.
Jonathan Hughes
Is a "Benloy" bass just a Geddy Lee jazz bass? I'm still confused.
Tom Capasso
Ben was the first on the board to acquire one. He's a fine player and has some other very fine basses, so we "renamed" the Geddy Lee to the BenLoy. I still hope to get Ben to sign mine one of these days. Then I'll be calling the bass by the correct name Tom www.stoneflyrocks.com Acoustic Color Be practical as well as generous in your ideals. Jonathan Hughes
Ahhh, that clears it up. I've been confused about that for quite some time, and no explanation ever came up in searches. I should also let everyone know that an american jazz bass in Inca Silver with a white pearl pickguard shall hereby be known as a "JonathanHughes".
