BluesKeys
I get this outstanding mix of my new 6pc band demo and he burns me the 16bit wave files, only from his Mac, they are data files. So they only play on the computer and I can't seem to convert them into any other wave, mp3 or mp4 format. When I try to open with Windows media player or iTunes nothing shows up. So I go to My Computer and open the files from there and they show as wave files but I can't figure out a way to convert them. Any Ideas? KenElevenShadows
Check and make certain the file is not fouled in any way, and make sure that it shows 40MGs or however large the file is. I can't speak for Windows, but on my Mac, I simply sweep the WAV file into iTunes and it is able to recognize, play, and convert it into other formats. If Windows Media Player or iTunes cannot do this, I suspect that there may be something wrong with your file since they typically recognize 16-bit WAV files. The other thing you could do is post it and maybe someone can convert it for you, but as I said, I suspect something is wrong with the WAV file since that's the most commonly read lossless file format for music. KenElevenShadows
Assuming it's not corrupted, that'll work too. If you don't have a DAW, download Audacity, which will do it. BluesKeys
There seems to be no corruption since they will play but that is all mute at this point. I had my engineer make me another copy and I JUST minutes ago recieved it by mail and I plays in everything. I was worried because I need a copy to go out Monday morning for our first gig. I will still play with these files to figure it out. I bet you are right Linwood, the DAW will likely read it and then I can put it into mp3 or wave and let iTunes/windows media convert it. Jim Alfredson
He probably burned a data CD instead of an audio CD. Just copy the files from the CD in your computer like you would any other data file (pictures, documents, etc.) then burn a new disc, specifying that it's an audio CD. Keep it greazy! Morizzle
Hey Blueskeys, just added you, great music on there. I love Myspace pages with lots of tracks to listen to! You seem to pull of a lot of keyboard duty. Do you have 4 hands? The page seems to be still under construction, right? When you're spending more time on the design I'd choose another band photo. You can hardly see anyone on there. Also, in the tracks with the female lead singer, there seems to be clipping (distortion) on her mic in the loud parts. Be sure to check if this was because of too high levels or if there's maybe an issue with the mic. Otherwise than that, I enjoyed the music. That must be a fun band! It's not a clone, it's a Suzuki. BluesKeys
Mo, thanks you are right about the PIC but it was the only one I have on this computer. Still work to do on the myspace but I also need to get our webpage up. You are correct I recorded the vocals a bit hot and when that all come in there is some distortion. We worked as much magic as we could but not fix worked any better than what we did. I was using my DAW Sonar for the first time and my Rode NTK mic works great but I did record it too hot. Learning experience. Thanks again and YES we hope to have ablast with this project and NO DRAMA..... Jimmy Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others. Morizzle
I was using my DAW Sonar for the first time and my Rode NTK mic No worries, you will quickly learn to manage that (opposed to certain "sound guys" ). I have a Rode NT1A and me luves it! Great sound for a few bucks It's not a clone, it's a Suzuki.
