steadyb
Hi guys, Tonight I am in the opening round of the L.A.'s funniest comic competition (I'm in the 2yr and under category). If you're free and can come out, that'd be great. 1/4 of the score is audience response, so I'm trying to get as many friendly faces to come out as possible. Here is the info on where and when: Date: Tuesday, February 2, 2010 Time: 9:00pm - 11:00pm Location: Life on Wilshire Street: 6311 Wilshire Boulevard City/Town: Los Angeles, CA Hope you can make it out. I believe the tomatoes will be on sale for half price during happy hour!!!
Joe Muscara
Are you going to be using material from the "READ ME TOO: Politics and Religion" thread? steadyb
It's a contest, so I only get to do a 5 minute set. I did a show at the Comedy Store last Monday and did a 12 minute set. dB was there, ...which was awesome!
JpScoey
It's a contest, so I only get to do a 5 minute set. That definitely rules out the "READ ME TOO: - Politics & Religion" thread, then ! ! ! ! ! kanker.
I'm in the 2yr and under categoryAhhh, you're 2 or under. That explains the Lakers fixation. (good luck ) A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable.

steadyb
Thanks. No, just me and the microphone tonight. But I have considered incorporating some keyboard/piano playing at some point, if I can make it work.

richwhite9
Steve Martin has his banjo. Steve Allen has his piano. Judy Tenuta has her accordion. It's time for a Keytar comedian.
ProfD
steadyb, if I was on the west coast, I'd be right there to heckle, er, support you mayne. Definitely find a way to incorporate music into the comedy routine. Whenever I return to live performance, I certainly plan to do both. In this economy and with teh smoking ban, folks have to feel like they are getting a lot for their money. As a result, an entertainer has to be multi-talented. Value added could mean going deep into the sack, pulling out balls and juggling too. Take your KB. Throw some Coldplay, Kanye, Lady GaGa and Brad Mehldau in the mix. ProfD
Value added could mean going deep into the sack, pulling out balls...No one needs to see that A KB player has to be prepared to pull out all stops especially when playing organ.
