BP3
I used to have a JD 800 years back and saved SysEx of my favorite patches. I now have a JD990 (supposedly a rack mount version of the JD800 with some additional features) but it doesn't take the SysEx files directly. Is there a conversion needed that anyone is aware of? Dave Bryce
As you probably know, brother Bill - there's a few substantial differences between the 800 and the 990, including (but not limited to) 2 more MB of wave ROM, a four pole filter, a bunch of new modulation options (cross, ring, matrix), hard sync and the ability to pan inside a tone. It really is a different animal. If any conversion utility exists, I've never heard of it. Love my 990, BTW. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==
Ian Benhamou
http://homepage.mac.com/synth_seal/html/ds_jd990.html Check it out, I didn't go through the whole site, but looks like a pretty thorough comparison. Maybe some info on how to convert your patches.
