B3bluesman59
There is a Craig's List add today showing a Hammond, looks like an A-100, and a Leslie speaker, including pedals and bench. I can't tell what model the Leslie is. The pics show a couple of broken keys. Add says they are giving it away. I can't use it but it I'll bet somebody out there will want to take a look. mate stubb
This looks like a lowboy leslie model 247 - same guts as a 147 but in a fancy cab with the horn mounted beside the rotor instead of on top. Somebody is sure to have snatched it by now - $25 worth of keys would repair the keyboard. Moe ---
B3bluesman59
I just called the number listed.....and the organ and goodies are now spoken for. Such a deal for somebody!!!
Bobadohshe
DAAAAANGG. I would have driven out there tomorrow to get it. I need the leslie. Not surprised that was spoken for in a second. B3bluesman59
When I called the phone number listed the guy did not even know the organ was a Hammond...as you can see from his listing. It appears to be an A-100 in the pictures. Needless to say the guy said his phone has been ringing off the hook!!!
Outkaster
Looks like an A-102 or A-122 actually. "Danny, ci manchi a tutti. La E-Street Band non e' la stessa senza di te. Riposa in pace, fratello" noblevibes.com
frogmonkey
Wow. Two Hammonds showed up on the Vermont Craigslist today, a C2 and a T422.
B3Nut
That is indeed the A-102...l'orgue du fifi! (An old Hammond brochure had a pic of the A-102 with a small Poodle looking at it, and a Hamtech discussion thread on the topic veered into the name of the poodle, and the nickname stuck ever since...) --- Todd A. Ah yes, I seem to remember scanning my old brocure and posting it at the Theatre Organ home page years ago. Yep, here is Fifi in all her glory: http://theatreorgans.com/hammond/HAMCAT10.GIF What a hideous organ cabinet! Moe ---
retrokeys
A chop is called for here. Not for portability but for simple aesthetic decency.
B3Nut
Yes, that cabinet is generally considered to be Hammond's biggest aesthetic brain fart, the execution of that style is lacking, it just looks....wrong. Yet the regular legless A-100 is one of the cleanest, sleekest console designs they ever made. The A-102 just cries out to be rescued in a portable case, or a BV or CV box. --- Todd A. kanker.
A chop is called for here. Not for portability but for simple aesthetic decency. Yeah, the ONLY Hammonds that deserve to be chopped are the French Provincial. Fugly doesn't come close A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable. retrokeys
I'm with you. Unless the cabinet is damaged beyond any hope of restoration, one just doesn't gain that much with a chop. That said, there are some nice chops out there. Still, French Provincial qualifies immediately. The first Hammond I ever had, an M1, had a homemade white antiqued French provincial type finish with faux vines and flowers on it....I shudder even today. Needless to say I became a pretty good refinisher PDQ.

retrokeys
I'm sorry I brought it up but if it happens that even one innocent Hammond is spared the Provincial treatment, then my pain would have been worth it. (actually it was worth it even then. I got the Hammond in an even trade for a Vox Jaguar. Refinishing was a small price to pay) Please no banninations on my account.
