My new (used) Fender '50s Precision Bass I picked up fairly cheap. It's extremely clean, just a very small, almost unnoticeable ding on the head stock and a couple of surface scratches on the back.

I have no authentic pics yet as she is currently undergoing a minor procedure (new strings, setup, cleaning, etc.)

If only I had the cashola ... Promised the misses that I'd only buy gear from money gained from gigs. And we don't play out much. And get paid even less :(

Gotta get a piggy bank. Me, I'm looking for an affordable fretless five...

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

My buddy, Dave, has the same bass in white. This is what it looked like when he first got it:

He has since swapped out the pickguard for a tortoise-shell jammy and added a bridge cover...

Pretty bad-ass. It's a great bass. Play yours in good health.

  • 1 month later...

I sprung for a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Vintage P-bass pickup.

Pictures of the bass are sorely overdue, I just have this one from last weekend's gig:

From this past Saturday's gig:

Loud metal, 2x100W guitar stacks. The rig I brought to a medium size bar gig: Avatar 210 cab, GK head 1001 head -- more than enough.

The bassist in the band we played with last weekend had the exact same bass... very cool.

But I'm in no rush to buy more equipment. Unless it's an amp. I could use an upgrade there.

Talk like that can get you an intervention. Think it, don't say it, definitely don't post it.

An intervention Sopranos style ? It's a Justin Case, mate, they may be monitoring ...
