surfjunkie
okay, i've been doing research for a couple of weeks, i think i'm ready to ask questions here. i use cubase, but i've been feeling the need for real knobs & wires. about 10 or 15 years ago i built a couple of craig's projects, and i think i'm ready to get out the soldering iron again. i've been looking at modulars. i've mainly researched paia and motm, they both seem great. there are also many other sites online with schematics, etc. my thought is to get an already-made midi-to-cv box, make a couple of the more simple kits (to start with), and buy a good filter module. this will be fun, and it's a perfect winter project! okay, give it up. whad'ya got for me? opinion? tips? i've found a ton of web info, but if you think you know a good site (pop), lay it on me. DougP
Also check out the kit versions of the modules from Blacet Research . The MOTM kits are set up very well, such that even a klutz like me can assemble the VCO's & filters (the most difficult kits). And they sound great. I love my Blacet, MOTM & Wiard modulars very much, so good luck taking the plunge!
