Moog Custom Engineering / ModuSonics - AVOID

Recommended Posts

I sent this repair shop in Buffalo, NY, my Moog Source for repair, after speaking to the owner on the phone. He claimed he could fix the problem, and install a MIDI jack for me. Repairs would "take a few weeks". Sounded good.

Fine. I send the board. He looks at it - and estimates a repair fee, which I send immediately by PayPal. That was back in February, 2009 (!)

The board still hasn't come back to me, some 5 months later. He doesn't respond to my emails. Have spoken with him periodically by phone... usual answer is "repair is done, just have to get around to putting the midi stuff in". Everytime, it's just more excuses.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get my Source back, or what my options are at this point. I've sent him an email that he'll be hearing from my lawyer soon.

At this point, all I can say is "AVOID"! Stay away from this repair service.

Anybody with any suggestions about getting my gear back?

Yes, Moe - that's correct. I don't mind *slow* - if he had told me up front, "You know, I'm way backlogged - this might take 5 months", I would be much more likely to be OK with it.
