rumpelstiltskin.
i found this while searching for replacement tuners for the cirrus: http://www.watsonguitars.net/images/07B015/07B015_hdr.jpg the headstock is not stellar, but in general this design speaks to me. which is odd, because i don't often like an offset waist. but it looks smart and well conceived. their other offerings? not so much: http://www.watsonguitars.net/images/08B020/020_hdr.jpg though i can see a certain mindset -- perhaps the same that would buy a kubicki (sorry, wally!) -- appreciating the design. but it's a fun saturday night find. by the way, though, does anyone know a good source for satin gold hipshot ultralight tuners? i can no longer stand the rattle from the ones on my cirrus. robb. because i like people. davio
That headstock looks a bit like a Knuckle.
...
I am diggin on the headless one for some reason. The body shape reminds me of a Ritter Classic a bit. I was going to suggest Stewmac for the tuners - but it looks like they only list the chrome ones.
Nicklab
Interesting designs. But I found some hipshot ultralites at this site. picker
http://www.watsonguitars.net/images/08B020/020_hdr.jpg Kinda looks like a pool of blood on the floor with a bass neck sticking out, doesn't it? Wally Malone
robb. if the Kubicki had the body shape of that bass I wouldn't own a Kubicki. Wally i found this while searching for replacement tuners for the cirrus: http://www.watsonguitars.net/images/07B015/07B015_hdr.jpg the headstock is not stellar, but in general this design speaks to me. which is odd, because i don't often like an offset waist. but it looks smart and well conceived. their other offerings? not so much: http://www.watsonguitars.net/images/08B020/020_hdr.jpg though i can see a certain mindset -- perhaps the same that would buy a kubicki (sorry, wally!) -- appreciating the design. but it's a fun saturday night find. by the way, though, does anyone know a good source for satin gold hipshot ultralight tuners? i can no longer stand the rattle from the ones on my cirrus. robb. I have basses to play, places to be and good music to make!
rumpelstiltskin.
Wally -- fair enough. I am diggin on the headless one for some reason. The body shape reminds me of a Ritter Classic a bit. i don't see it, because unlike the watson headless, this is hotness: http://www.ritter-basses.com/ritter-basses---bilder/ritter-basses-basses/ritter-basses-classic/ritter-basses-0312.jpg robb. because i like people. rumpelstiltskin.
a bit. it appears as though all gold hardware might be satin finish, so it's not as hard to find as i thought. and i shall have to measure my tuners to buy the right size replacement. and i'm rehabbing an ampeg V4 after some months of neglect, so that's on the budget horizon, too. robb. because i like people. Interesting. The headstock shape is kind of a deal breaker for me. The body shape is nice though. The Headless bass has a nice finish but the body shape is a bit too wonky looking for me.
