Painterly
Hello, I have a Stagg electric upright bass and I'm looking for a real doublebass teacher to give me lessons. I'm an absolute beginner on bass but I perform from time to time on flute. I want someone to get me off to a good start with good technique, proper posture, practice habits, etc. Thanks! Tom Capasso
I don't know anyone specifically, but I'd check out your local high school. Orchestra teachers often give private lessons. Welcome!! jeremy c
Maybe call Ritt Henn. He and I and my brother played a concert on Long Island last year. Tom was there. Free download of my cd!.
Cthulhu Fhtagn
The music department at the local junior colleges may have resources. There may be a concert or jazz bassist or two trying to get some extra pizza money. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn
Rocky McDougall
How about our own Bob Gollihur, he is in New York. Rocky "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb, voting on what to eat for lunch. _Sweet Willie_
Bill Merchant and David Gage have shops in NYC and do upright repair and sales. Look them up on Google and see if they have any recs. Gollihur is in NJ. He may have some recs as well. Good luck. Peace. --SW spreadluv Fanboy? Why, yes! Nordstrand Pickups and Guitars. Messiaen knew how to parlay the funk.
