Cthulhu Fhtagn
Ooooooh! Another Bass Player event in either NYC or LA. How 'bout throwing some fish up our way for a change? I'd drive to Seattle for something like that. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn
Chad Thorne
Yeah, or maybe Boston or even (gasp!) Portland, Maine?
jeremy c
And what about the San Francisco bay area? The entire staff of BP magazine lives here. Think of all the money you would save on travel expenses. And any of the bassists performing at the event would be welcome to stay at my house. Free download of my cd!.
b5pilot
How about good ol' Motown, home of James Jamerson? Lydian mode? The only mode I know has the words "pie ala" in front of it. http://www.myspace.com/theeldoradosband

picker
The only really fair place is Kansas City. It nearly dead center in the middle of the US of A. Where else but one of the great historical home cities of the blues? Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
Darren Michaels
Here's an idea...How about all you folks asking BP Live to come to your town just organize your own local bass centric event. Focus on local players and one or two national names. Get local music shops, instrument makers, and music schools to help foot the bill. It's happened in Nashville, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, Montana, New Hampshire. Just a thought. Use the tools you have to make the tools you need. djehuti
I'll be coming up from OC and I'd like to find a hotel within walking distance for Saturday night that isn't too scary. Does anyone recommend a decent nearby hotel/motel?
djehuti
Due to a family emergency I will be out of town during Bass Player Live. I have a two day ticket and a concert ticket available if anyone needs them. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested.
Editor Boy
With doors about to open at 10:00, a crowd of bass players and fans crowded the main door at SIR Studios in Hollywood. Now the clinics are starting, and drums and bass are resounding throughout the hallways. Are you here? Let us know. Jonathan Herrera, Brian Fox, and I are walking about.
