I have been inspired! I got my pedal board in last week (FINALLY!). No more annoying cables everywhere & crap all over the floor. Finally a nice clean setup. Here's mine, where's yours??

Oh and see that empty space? Yeah I don't plan that to be there very long. :thu:

Well, not much to speak of and I usually don't use them all at once.

I'm more of a "multi-unit" fan.

I do like the pedal boards though.

Not shown is a Boss RT-20 but I have a similar sounding unit in my Boss ME-50 so I use the RT-20 on my keyboard.

Oh yeah...have you tried the Pog mini and is it worth it or better to go with the full size Pog?

Thanks,

Randy

I have played the Micro POG and it sounds fantastic. As far as "worth it", it depends on what you are using it for. If you just want a low octave (for bass sounds, etc) & 1 octave up (for 12 string effects, etc) then it is wonderful. It sounds great and the controls are very easy: suboctave, main signal, 1 octave up...and you can blend the 3 to your liking.

IF however you are a tweaker like ME :thu: you'll want the POG as it has control over not only what I just mentioned, but also 2 octaves up, and detunes (which is basically slight modulation) on the high octaves, PLUS a low pass filter for really dialing in the organ sound.

I use my POG for the organ sound, and if you want a convincing organ sound, go with the POG. If all you want is a bass effect & a 12 string effect or a blend of all 3, go with the Micro POG.

The pedal board is from rondomusic.com

It is their huge board or whichever is the biggest.

The expression pedal is connected to the HolyStain (the orangey pedal)...it controls the amount of whatever effect I'm using (room or hall reverb or trem).

This is mine. The two unlabeled pedals are BYOC and General Guitar Gadgets boxes, the raggedy-looking one is a JFET booster, and the red one is a distortion box, I can't remember what kind.

The only thing I have even a minor problem with is the Danecho. It's too large and heavy and keeps pulling off the Velcro and rattling around in the case. It takes up too much real estate, too. The sound works, but it's not the be-all and end-all of echo pedals.

I put the Danecho and Tremolo through the effects loop, and the others go into the front.

Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.

Here's mine:

A quick run-down:

* Cry-baby 535Q wah - nicely adjustable, as I like them throaty and full of sweet spots

* Black Box Oxygen Pedal by Oohlala -- Amazing compresser/limiter/gate/dirt pedal - perfect, non-noisy and transparent compression with sustain for weeks!

* Tanabe Zenkudo Custom Twin Pedal -- this is the ultimate "Dumble clone" pedal. There's two side-by-side in this box, I have one set to Dumble mode for sweet boutique-y tones and the other to Marshal mode (vintage plexi tone)

* Tuner

* Keeley Katana Boost - This is chiefly used as a lead boost function with my Peavey Classic 30 in the FX loop. My Bogner has a lead boost already.

* Visual Sound H2O - Excellent, lush analog chorus and echo tones.

* Bogner Shiva Footswitch

* X2 wireless receiver - nicest wireless I've tried...

Ok, here's mine; but be warned- it's mostly bass stuff!

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n2/Awestruckdan/2008_1028Image0054.jpg

Pedaltrain Pro board. I probably need to reorganize it, and get board-specific cables to save some real estate.

Signal chain is: Bass --> Planet Waves tuner --> EH Black Finger Compressor --> Homebrew Electronics Hematoma bass overdrive --> Dunlop 105Q Wah --> Carvin Super Delay* --> Boss Bass Chorus --> amp (Phil Jones Bass Sixback or Carvin RL1000)

On the left you'll see my acoustic guitar rig- an EH Switchblade to go to either the Korg Tuner (and remove the signal from FOH) or to Whirlwind Imp 2 DI to the board.

As I don't play electric guitar live very much, those pedals are in a bag waiting for their chance to shine. They include: Danelectro Fab Overdrive, Tech 21 Comptortion, Boss Chorus, Boss Volume Pedal, Fender Volume Pedal, and if I'm needing something odd, Yamah REX50.

*Soon to be replaced by a BYOC Ping Pong Echo- should be arriving next week or so.

These are nice, but still makes me want to go rack mount. I don't want much out in front with me; a boost pedal and a wah and MAYBE a volume pedal...no board.

Run my chorus, flanger, phaser etc. from rack unit. Run my effects from a multi-effects processor (e.g. clean, plexi etc.). Add tuner, power conditioner and an EQ. 6 rack unit with 1u to spare :). Have a song list with presets next to it and good to go.

Thing is it's hard to pull the trigger because it's easy to pick up a pedal here, a pedal there vs. dropping $500 for a rack unit.

A $500 rack unit? I do not think ANY multi unit is gonna sound worth a crap for $500. It IS true what they say...single pedals do sound better than their multi effect counterpart (ESPECIALLY when the single pedal is analog & the multi FX is a digital replica.

I am thinking for a REALLY good multiFX rack unit with a midi footswitch to save your banks...you are looking at 2Gs. Easy. No thanks I will stick to tap dancing on stage...It looks cooler anyway. Just watch the guitarist for the Mars Volta or Radiohead.

On that rondo case, is the lid the pedal board? It's kind of hard to tell from their site if it's the lid and you remove it or if the pedal board is a "tray" inside???

And is the tray lined with velcro? Nevermind....just had to think "backwards" for a second and re-look at your picture. Looks like a nice case, you could even put some foam in the LID (the 4" deep part..duh!) for extra padding.

Rootstonian, yeah the pedal board has 2 parts, a 1" deep part (the "bottom" where your pedals sit) and a 4" deep part (the "lid" that closes). The bottom of the board is a carpetish material, so you put the hard scratchy velcro on the back of the pedals.

The rondo board comes with a long strip of velcro, but it sucks and the glue is not strong so it doesn't hold on to your pedals when you go to rip them up. I went & bought some industrial velcro tape, works much better.

and yeah you could put foam in the top of the case if you so desire.

I have a double pedal board that fits into one road case, compact and neat, but it's still bulky and when I don't need it I've been using this "pedal bag" I got for $20 or so at GC. I figure out what I need for the gig and put them on it.

Okay, I believe I've figured it out. Here are a few shots of my pedalboard:

http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs513.snc3/26940_431298363064_597718064_5217992_7614687_n.jpg

Bottom to top, left to right:

- Pfeiffer Phaser (the Purplifier)

- Zenkudo Distortion (currently in Marshall Mode)

- Hughes & Kettner amp switcher for my Statesman (modified to NOT be hardwired to the cable)

- Scream Regulator (a Troy Berry design that he graciously shared with me)

- (middle row) Korg Tuner

- Hardwire Reverb pedal (it's all Lexicon -- what's not to love?)

- Visual Sound H2O Chorus and Delay pedal

- (top row) Synchronized Hot Tubbing Team

- Clock

- After Hours Club

- PedalSnake pigtail bridge

Yes, you're seeing that right, the board is entirely made out of Lego. If you hate Velcro as I do, Lego is the PERFECT substrate for a pedalboard: You can easily move pedals around, add or remove, add extra levels, and build totally custom bits into it (like my little bridge that pins down the PedalSnake pigtails to keep them neat, the clock holder, the hot tub...).

Actually, the hot tub is new. Wanna see a few more shots of that and the party people?

The Legos 'board is too damn funny! :thu::D:cool:

And totally functional. It IS my gigging pedalboard. I mean, move stuff, add stuff, delete stuff, it's just too easy -- dare I say it? -- child's play. The only difficult part is the form factor -- no-one makes a 16x16 bag. But that form works great on stage.

And to have Rich Dodson cheering me on from the friendly confines of the hot tub, well, really, you can't put a price on that!
